Treatment Steps

- Your tooth is numbed with local anesthesia. This medication also prevents you from feeling any discomfort or sensitivity while our dental team works.
- Every bit of decay is scraped from the tooth; this may require use of a small dental drill. Then, the area is disinfected so an infection doesn’t develop in the future.
- The resin is administered into the tooth. A curing light is directed at the tooth to ensure the material fully hardens.
- After a few minutes, we’ll make sure everything looks good before polishing it to a nice shine.
During your routine check-ups and cleanings, we’ll inspect your filling to determine whether it is still in good condition or needs replacement.
