Dental Bonding in Mississauga

Dental Bonding Near You

Biocompatible composite resin can be shaped around stained or damaged teeth that require minor restorations. Our dentists here at Iona Dental will guide you through every step of this process and work with you to ensure the resin is colour-matched to your smile. We want you to feel confident whenever you show off your smile, and dental bonding can be the perfect solution.

What Can Bonding Fix?

A number of dental issues, including minor functional and aesthetic problems, can be effectively addressed with tooth bonding. Some common examples are noted below:

  • Conceal cracks and chips
  • Close small gaps between teeth
  • Cover up discolouration
  • Change the shape of your teeth (to look longer, more uniform)

For smiles that require more extensive care, porcelain veneers or dental crowns can be suggested as an alternative. When you visit our practice, one of our dentists can inspect your smile to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for this process.

What Does the Treatment Entail?

After your initial consultation, the following steps will take place:

  1. One of our dentists in Mississauga will help you select an appropriate shade for the resin. We work hard to ensure that your smile looks as natural as possible once the treatment is over.
  2. A special liquid is applied to the teeth. This roughens their surface so the resin can fully bond to the tooth.
  3. The resin is applied and carefully molded to meet your specifications, taking into account shape, size, and texture.
  4. A curing light is directed onto the teeth to help the resin fully harden or “bond.”
  5. Lastly, we will polish your teeth, so they shine. Please let us know if there’s anything you need before you go.

Dental bonding takes a bit of time to complete, as our team works carefully and dutifully to ensure your smile is fully remedied and you are satisfied with the results. That said, only one appointment is needed, and you can resume your daily activities.

Does Bonding Hurt?

No! Your tooth roots and nerves are not disturbed during this treatment, and, unlike veneers, none of your enamel needs to be etched off. As a result, local anesthesia is not provided. However, should you need additional means to have a comfortable visit with us, please let a staff member know.
